A trio of longtime friends go on a 2 week cross-country trip to ditch the city and rediscover what matters most in their lives. The movie was nominated for being the Best Comedy Motion Picture at the 49th Golden Globe Awards in 1992. Both Jack Palance and Billy Crystal were nominated for the Golden Globes. Palance won an award for Best Supporting Actor.

Certain parts of the film were shot in New York City, New Mexico, Colorado and Spain. The movie made over $180 million in Box Office sales. Jake Gyllenhaal made his official film debut in the movie.
