Before Fame

He grew up on a farm in Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.F.A. in theater before he moved to Los Angeles.

He won the DramaLogue Award in 1983 for his performance in Stephen Sondheim's musical Marry Me a Little.
