Peruvian artist who was best known as a painter and cartoonist. He was a professor for many years at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes.
His first art exhibition occurred when he was only seventeen years old. He was trained by famed painter Daniel Hernández at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes from 1919 until 1924.
He created "Travesuras de Serrucho y Volatín" in 1922, the first Peruvian comic strip to feature speech balloons.
He was born and raised in Arequipa, Peru.
