Known for her 2010 politically-themed novel Eighteen Acres and its sequel, It's Classified. She also had a career in politics, serving as White House Director of Communications during the presidential administration of George W. Bush.

Before Fame

After earning a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of California-Berkeley and a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University, she became the press secretary of Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

In late 2014, she began co-hosting the popular talk show The View.

Family Life

Born Nicolle Devenish, she grew up in Northern California as the daughter of an antiques expert and an assistant teacher. She married diplomat Mark Wallace in 2005; they welcomed a son named Liam in 2012.

She was a senior political advisor to John McCain during the Republican candidate's 2008 presidential campaign.
