Before Fame
He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 1958. He assumed charge of Charles de Gaulle Airport (Roissy) in 1967; the ceiling of his seventh terminal, Terminal 2E, collapsed in 2004, killing four people; following the disaster, he said the building contractors failed to execute his designs accurately.
