Sophie Evans

After finishing as runner-up in the BBC reality talent competition Over the Rainbow, Evans was one of two actresses to perform the role of Dorothy in the 2011-2012 London West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.

Before Fame

During her childhood and early adolescence, she performed in numerous productions with Wales' Mid-Rhondda Operatic Society. Before becoming widely known for her participation in Over the Rainbow, she competed on the 2008 edition of The X Factor UK.

Trivia

In 2014, she released her first solo music album and performed in the London and touring productions of Irving Berlin: From Rags to Ritzes.

Family Life

Born in Tonypandy, Rhondda Valley, Wales, she is the daughter of Michelle and David Evans and the older sister of Beth Evans. As of 2015, she was romantically involved with rugby union footballer Ellis Jenkins.

She finished just behind Danielle Hope, who was the overall winner of the Over the Rainbow reality contest, and just ahead of Lauren Samuels.
