She was born to director Howard Deutch and actress Lea Thompson and raised alongside her sister Madelyn. She began dating actor Avan Jogia in 2011, but the couple split in 2016. She also dated actor Dylan Doornbos Hayes. In 2021, she and Jimmy Tatro made their relationship Instagram official.
