Stained-glass artist, painter, stage designer, and museum director. He was director of the Vilnius Art Museum from 1939 until 1944.
He studied at the Kaunas Art School. He left Lithuania when World War II ended in order to avoid the Soviet occupation.
He was a stage designer for the Lithuanian Opera Company of Chicago.
He was raised near the village of Vilkaviskis.
He and Rene Lalique were both known for their work with stained glass.
