Greek politician best recognized for having served both as the Minister for Development and Investment as well as the Minister for Health. He is also known for his work with the New Democracy party and served as their Vice President beginning in January of 2016.
He attended the University of Athens where he studied within their Department of History and Archaeology. He started his career in politics by serving as a spokesman for the Popular Orthodox Rally beginning in December of 2003. He was appointed Deputy Minister for Development in November of 2011.
He is also an author and has written several books including Homosexuality in Ancient Greece: the Myth Collapses.
He married television celebrity and composer Eugenia Manolidou and together they have two sons named Athanasios-Perseas and Alkaios-Anastasios.
He served as Minster for Health under Prime Minister Antonis Samaras from June of 2013 until June of 2014.
