Brazilian mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter known for competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is most recognized for being the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Black Belt World Champion in 2013.
He first started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 1997 in Kioto gym in Tijuca. After years of training and teaching himself, he started his professional mixed martial arts career in April of 2014. In 2015, he won the World Nogi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship gold medal.
He was awarded the Fight of the Night award in the Ultimate Fighting Championship in January of 2017 in a match against Frankie Saenz.
He was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu because his brother was a protectionist.
