American documentary photographer who is best known for his documentation of Iraq. He focuses on a range of subjects but specializes in mass displacement, religious and ethnic minorities, and the fight against the Islamic States. He has also spoken at a range of headquarters including National Geographic, Facebook, and Instagram.
His first experience as a documentary photographer was working in Iraq. He earned recognition after appearing in The Wall Street Journal and Foreign Policy Magazine. He then began working as a photo editor for Roads & Kingdoms.
He has worked with several editorial clients including Vanity Fair, WIRED UK, Google, and The Guardian. He was also awarded the ONA's inaugural James W. Foley Award for Conflict Freelancers in 2015.
He was born and raised in New York.
