Republican politician who was the United States Senator from New Jersey for five months in 2013 after the death of Frank Lautenberg.
He graduated from University of Notre Dame in 1987 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting before getting his law degree from the Columbus School of Law.
He was the first Republican senator to represent New Jersey since 1982 and recorded the fourth-shortest tenure of the 65 U.S. Senators who have served in New Jersey history.
He grew up with two younger siblings. His mother was a public school teacher, and his father was a chemical plant worker who died when Jeffrey was only eight.
He was succeeded by Cory Booker in the Senate.
