Politician and journalist who became a Congressman of the Republic of Peru in May 2019. He served as President of the Congress from 2015 to 2016.
He received his bachelor's degree in journalism from the School of Journalism Jaime Bausate y Meza, and his master's from San Martín de Porres University.
He began his journalistic career in 1984, working in newspapers in Lima as a political columnist. In 1999 he co-founded the newspaper Liberación.
His father, Juan Gilberto Iberico, was a doctor, and his mother, María Luisa Núñez García, was a nurse. He and his wife Gioconda Carmela Bellomo Montalvo have children Luis, Francesca and Alessandro.
