Canadian vocalist best known as the frontman and primary songwriter for the indie rock band The Dears. He and the band have achieved critical success with releases like 2006's Gang of Losers and toured with some of indie rock's biggest acts, including Keane and The Secret Machines.
He formed The Dears in 1995. The band's first album, End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story, was released on Grenadine Records in 2000.
He self-produced his debut solo album MASS:LIGHT in 2013.
He married Natalia Yanchak, keyboardist for The Dears, in 2005. He has children named Neptune and Apollo.
His lyrics and vocal stylings have often been compared to that of Morrissey by the press.
