Turkish writer and journalist who is known for covering a range of subjects from the Ottoman Empire and Turkey. He is known for having written articles for Yeni Safak, Zaman, and Moonlight TV and is also known for having written several books on Turkish history including The Ottoman Empire: Istanbul in 2007 and Our History Through the Eyes of Kazim Karabekir in 2011.
He graduated from the Istanbul University's Department of Literature. He started his career as an editor for several publishing houses and magazines before publishing his first book in 1992 entitled Tradition. He then started working as Editor-In-Chief of Derin Tarih magazine in April of 2012.
He is known for having won multiple awards from the Turkey Writers Association including for Turning Point in Western Thought, City, O City, and Ottoman: The Last Island of Humanity.
He was born and raised in Cizre, Sirnak.
He is known for having written a piece in Zaman magazine reacting to Recep Tayyip Erdogan's protests against the Jamaat.
