Indian American journalist, podcast host, author, and science communicator known as the host and executive editor of the podcast Hidden Brain. He is also known for the Hidden Brain YouTube channel, Instagram account, website, and podcast platforms where he shares podcast episodes, social science stories, interviews, research-based insights, and clips from the Hidden Brain audio series.

Before fame

He earned an undergraduate degree in electrical/electronics engineering in India before earning a master's degree in journalism from Stanford University. He spent 10 years as a reporter at The Washington Post where he also wrote the Department of Human Behavior column from 2007 to 2009. He joined NPR in 2011 as a social science correspondent, and his big break came through Hidden Brain which launched as an NPR podcast in 2015 and radio series in 2017.

He published the book The Hidden Brain: How Our Unconscious Minds Elect Presidents, Control Markets, Wage Wars, and Save Our Lives in 2010. He founded Hidden Brain Media in 2019. He co-authored Useful Delusions: The Power and Paradox of the Self-Deceiving Brain with Bill Mesler which was published in 2021.
