About
Film based on tragic true events involving mountain climbers who attempted a final ascent to the summit of Mount Everest. They encountered an unexpected storm and have to fight to survive. The film opened the 72nd Venice International Film Festival in 2015.
Trivia
The film was shot in the Ötztal Alps in Italy, Iceland, and Nepal. To photograph a scene in which a character is stuck on the mountain in a storm, the set used refrigerating units and cooled to about 26 to 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
