Local "hometown hero" from Clitheroe, England, who was the star and focal point of several BBC 3 documentaries, including Alfie: The Odd Job Boy and The Odd Job Alfie Documentary. Performing odd jobs for citizens all around the town of Clitheroe on his tandem bike, he has also become somewhat of a celebrity on social media, as his AlfieOddJob YouTube channel has shown him filling potholes, delivering Christmas trees, selling ice cream, and performing other duties requested by his neighbors. 

Before Fame

He first met documentary film director Aaron Dunleavy at the Cloudspotting Festival in Gisburn Forest when he was only 17 years old. The two remained in touch and Dunleavy, who felt that he was simply made to be on-screen, jumped at the opportunity to film a documentary after learning of his tandem bike business.

Trivia

His story was originally captured for the BBC 3 "Real Life" short film series in the year 2018. The documentary showed the uphill battle he faced, attempting to make a living without formal education or qualifications, and encountering restrictions from the town's local council. However, his ability to maintain an enduring spirit and a creative approach to business all the while quickly endeared audiences everywhere and demand for continued coverage of his story went on for years to follow.
