About
Award-winning American meteorologist best known for joining Atlanta's WSB-TV (Channel 2 Action News) as Chief Meteorologist in 2006. Among his numerous career accolades, he has achieved multiple Emmy Awards and press honors for his severe weather coverage, including Hurricane Irma in 2017. He also earned the distinction of being one of the first-ever meteorologists in the United States to boast the American Meteorological Society's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation.
Before Fame
He first became passionate about meteorology while growing up in the often hurricane-impacted state of Florida, where he also enjoyed surfing. He obtained his meteorology degree from Florida State University before launching his professional career by forecasting storms in Orlando and Jacksonville. He subsequently went on to work at NBC News and local stations including WREX-TV in Illinois and WFTS-TV in Tampa.
Trivia
He is a licensed private pilot and has flown alongside the renowned Navy's Blue Angels. Outside of meteorology, he has stated that he enjoys taking on various home projects and crafting his own furniture.
Family Life
He and his wife, Aimee, married on June 13, 1998. Together, they share two daughters named Elizabeth and Caroline.
