Before Fame
After being granted refugee status by the U.S., he and his family relocated when he was around nine years old and settled in Denver, CO. Growing up, he lived in public housing with other refugee families, earning him the nickname "Chinatown" amongst his peers. In high school, he started rapping and performing in friends' garages.

He has been known to perform for Ka-ren refugee communities across the country, including at soccer and basketball tournaments in South Dakota and Minnesota. His track "Pressure," which was a collaboration with fellow refugee rapper Gee Kade, achieved over 1 million views in only four months, despite having had no formal promotion.
