Mobile photographer known for his incredible images captured using his iPhone. In 2015 he was chosen by CBRE as the Urban Photographer of the Year in the Mobile category. Also in 2015, his work was featured in the Apple World Gallery. His photography rose in popularity after it caught the eye of the judges in the 2014 iPhone Photography Awards, where he ended up taking many wins.

Before Fame

He was born and raised in Beijing, China. He studied fine art and design in college. He worked for 5 years as an interaction designer at a financial service firm in Chicago before relocating to San Francisco, where he is based now. His mobile photography journey started in 2010 with his iPhone 4. 

Trivia

His cocu_liu Instagram page has 130,000 followers. He shares his photography, a blend of urban city life and the fringes of nature that surround it. A September 2017 post of a street in San Francisco with residents casting long shadows went on to gain over 10,000 likes. 

Family Life

He is married with no children. One of his favorite double-exposure works uses his wife's silhouette as the background to a cityscape. His parents gave him a Canon 35mm camera when he was a teenager.
