Filipino actor and comedian who was born Rodolfo Vera Quizon, Sr. and was known by such stage names as Dolphy, Golay, and Pidol. He was considered the Philippines' King of Comedy, and has worked through all mediums: radio, print, TV, internet, and film.
He began his career as a comedian in his late teens, during the World War II-era Japanese occupation of the Philippines.
He appeared in several popular television shows, including John en Marsha and Home Along Da Riles.
He never married, but fathered eighteen children with several well-known actresses. His longest relationship, with actress and singer, Zsa Zsa Padilla, lasted over twenty years.
He and fellow comic actor, Vic Sotto, co-starred in a 2008 film called Dobol Trobol.
