Azra Kolaković, or as she is more widely known, Donna Ares, gained fame in 1998 for her debut album Ti me više ne voliš. She would go on to release half a dozen more successful albums including 2011's Povratka nema.
She attended music schools locally in her youth and even attended a music academy before the onset of the Bosnian War. She started her solo music career in 1997.
In 1997, she competed in the Croatian Dora competition in order to represent the nation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
She was born to Bosniak parents in Bihać. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2014 and passed away from the disease in 2017.
Both she and Selma Bajrami are popular Bosnian singers.
