Somali Canadian R&B and soul singer, vocalist, and entertainer known for emotional songs like "Down For It," "Polytics," "Hate," "Good Life," "Beach," "In My Feels," "Look At What I'm Doing To You," and "Still" along with her debut EP Risk.

Before fame

She initially worked in community and social justice spaces. She attended and graduated from The Remix Project and gained experience working as an independent artist. She introduced herself as a solo artist with her debut single "Down For It" in 2020 which focused on confidence and self-belief.

Trivia

She has been affiliated with Arista Records. She released "Polytics" in 2021, a song about self-awareness and modern relationships that helped define her sound. She spent the next two years building momentum before releasing her debut EP Risk in July 2023.

Family life

She was born in Canada to Somali immigrant parents. She grew up moving between Toronto, North Carolina, and Kenya.
