Japanese American growth equity investor and former Division I volleyball player known for her long-term relationship with chef and internet personality Nick DiGiovanni, for working as a Senior Associate at Volition Capital in Boston, and for having played libero for the Harvard Crimson Women's Volleyball Team.
Before fame
She attended New Trier High School where she was a standout libero and honor student. She was named Conference Player of the Year her senior year of high school and helped lead New Trier to major program success. She committed to Harvard University and played Division I volleyball. She earned the John Harvard Scholarship for being in the top 5% of her class. She also completed a finance course at the London School of Economics and interned at Wells Fargo Securities before beginning her career at Goldman Sachs. She entered MIT Sloan as an early-admission MBA student in 2022. She graduated in 2024 and joined Volition Capital soon after.
Trivia
She once competed against Nick DiGiovanni in a cooking challenge on his channel and beat him which resulted in her winning a trip to Japan as her prize. She is scuba certified but is afraid of sharks. She medically retired from volleyball in 2019 after suffering multiple concussions and a back injury during her college career.
Family life
She was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Wilmette, Illinois. Her sister Taylor Tashima captained the USA U19 National Volleyball Team, played at Northwestern University, and then competed professionally in Europe. She and Nick DiGiovanni met at Harvard and began dating in 2019.
