First-class batsman and wicket keeper who established himself early in his career with Jharkhand. He joined the Guajarat Lions of the Indian Premier League in 2016 to play T20 cricket. In 2018, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians.
He started playing for Jharkand in 2014 as registration issues prevented him from playing closer to his hometown of Patna in Bihar.
At the age of 16, he captained India in the 2016 U19 Cricket World Cup.
He grew up with his brother Raj. His father's name is Pranav.
He and Dinesh Karthik have both served as wicket keepers for Guajarat.
