She has stated that she struggled with her gender since the age of four. She came out as transgender when she was in her mid-20s.

Trivia

She worked as a composer and actor for film and television for many years before relocating to a small fishing village called Isafjordur. She now works as an arctic adventure guide and travels the world as a photographer and videographer. 

Family Life

She came out as transgender after high school. She came out to her sister in a text message, to which her sister replied, "I knew it!" She has dual citizenship in Germany and the United States of America, and has split her time between the two countries. She was raised in San Francisco.
