Rugby union coach who coached the South African national team, the Springboks, to victory at the 2004 Tri Nations and 2007 Rugby World Cup. He is a two-time winner of the IRB International Coach of the Year award and was inducted into the IRB Hall of Fame in 2011.

Before Fame

He played on the First XV at Jeppe High School for Boys before beginning his coaching career at Parktown Boys' High School.


Under his leadership, the Springboks posted the longest home Test winning streak in South Africa's history with 13 consecutive victories.

Family Life

He was married to Debbie White from 1988 to 2007 and later got remarried to Lindy Kloppers in 2009. He has children named Wesley, Clinton, Blair Michael Taberer.

Associated With

He coached Jannie du Plessisto victory at the Rugby World Cup, the second in Springbok history.
