He played football and competed in wrestling at Marysville Pilchuck.
He was named the school's freshman homecoming prince just shortly before the shootings.
The Beretta handgun he used in the shootings belonged to his father.
After the incident, Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks invited the school's football team to practice at their facility.
