English author of young adult fiction and non-fiction, screenwriter, podcaster, and columnist famously known for writing global bestselling books including Clean and This Book is Gay. In 2020, she achieved the YA Book Prize for Meat Market and in 2022, she launched her adult fantasy trilogy Her Majesty's Royal Coven, which was released to immediate bestseller status. She is also a journalist and has contributed to major publications including Glamour, Dazed, The Guardian, and Attitude, in addition to numerous television and radio programs.

Before Fame

Throughout her youth, she frequently wrote imaginary Doctor Who episodes. She went on to graduate from Bangor University before working as a primary school teacher and PSHE coordinator prior to launching her career as an author.

Trivia

She has earned numerous career accolades including the Queen of Teen award in 2014 and the Books Are My Bag award in 2022.

Family Life

She publicly came out as a trans woman in 2015 after having begun her transition approximately 18 months prior and shared her experience in a column for Glamour magazine. She is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has participated as part of the cabaret collective Club Silencio.
