Justin Jamal Pearson

About

American activist and politician who is recognized as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing the 86th district, covering parts of the city of Memphis. When he was sworn into office at the age of 28, he became the second youngest lawmaker serving in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Before Fame

When he attended Mitchell High School, he became active in student government, lobbied for textbooks and Advanced Placement classes, and joined the debate team. In 2017, he graduated from Bowdoin College, majoring in Government and Legal Studies with a minor in Education Studies.

Trivia

He and fellow state representative Justin Jones were expelled on April 6, 2023, for participating in a gun control protest inside the state capitol in a manner that Republicans said was "disorderly behavior". He was reappointed by a unanimous vote of the members present at the Shelby County Board of Commissioners on April 12, 2023.

Family Life

His father was a preacher and his mother a teacher. His brother is Keshaun Pearson. He is in a relationship with someone named Oceana.
