He is also known for representing Scotland in international competitions and matches and for previously playing for Dundee United and Ayr United.
Before Fame
He began playing soccer at the soccer youth club Baillieston Juniors in Glasgow. He then enrolled in Queen's Park's youth system. He made his senior debut for Queen's Park when he was 16 years old, scoring his first goal in a Scottish League Cup tie against Airdrieonians. He then began playing for Aberdeen in 2013. He made his senior debut for the Scotland national team in October 2019.
Trivia
He was named the Scottish Premiership Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association Scotland for the 2023-2024 season. He became the first Heart of Midlothian player to receive this award. He was awarded the Scottish Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year for the 2023-2024 season.
