Before fame

She started figure skating when she was only 6 years old. She also participated in other sports throughout her youth, including track and field, where she won several events in high school competitions. She studied biology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas before going on to attend the Vanguard University of Southern California, where she studied political science and history.

Trivia

She has been recognized as the first Black figure skater to have qualified for Norway's national championship. She authored the 2021 book How to Become a Successful Student Athlete: Finding Balance: Passion, Perseverance and Courage. She also founded the athletic clothing, accessory, and supply brand LW Active.

Family life

She comes from Ghanaian and Nigerian heritage. In 2023, she shared a video that featured her mom and sister on her self-titled YouTube channel.

She notably portrayed Princess Tiana in Disney on Ice, a role that was originally voiced by Anika Noni Rose in the 2009 Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog.
