Famous for her portrayal of the title character in the Indian soap opera Jyoti, she is also known for her role as Ratanjeet Kaur Sampooran Singh on the Star Plus network's Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera. She won a STAR Parivaar Award for her performance in the latter series.

In her late teens, she began her entertainment career as a performer in Marathi-language stage plays.

After training at the London Film Academy, she launched a second career as a film director.
