German cookbook author, recipe developer, writer, photographer, and social media personality known for creating the food blog and social media accounts Dirndl Kitchen along with being known for sharing authentic German recipes including regional dishes, baked goods, and family recipes adapted for cooks in the United States.
Before fame
She moved to the United States in 2009 and studied marketing and finance at the University of Kansas School of Business after starting at Johnson County Community College. She worked in finance before leaving corporate life and launching Dirndl Kitchen in 2015.
Trivia
She failed to cook authentic German recipes in her home in Kansas City over and over again. The frustration led her to figure it making those recipes on her own, and in 2015, she started sharing those on her German food blog "dirndl kitchen." She published the internationally bestselling "German Home Kitchen" in October 2025 and has been featured in Forbes, Women's Day Magazine, Kansas City TV stations, her hometown's newspaper "Trierischer Volksfreund," several podcasts, and more. She dreams of opening a German bakery and spa in Kansas City.
Family life
She was born and raised in Trier, Germany, and grew up cooking and baking with her grandmother. She and her American husband Jason have homeschooled their three children and raised them in a bilingual household.
