Steve Hooker

Australian former pole vaulter and Olympic gold medalist. He achieved his personal best jump in 2008 by reaching a height of 19 feet and ten and a half inches.

Before Fame

He attended Greythorn Primary School and Balwyn High School in Balwyn North, Victoria. He began attending the Box Hill Athletic Club and went professional in 2006.

Trivia

He was accepted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

Family Life

He has one son named Maxim with his wife, Yekaterina Kostetskaya.

He came in fourth place as the highest pole vaulter in history behind Sergey Bubka and Armand Duplantis.
