Fourth single released for the original soundtrack of The Bodyguard, a film in which recording artist Whitney Houston would also star. It was originally intended as a break-up song, but rewritten to be a love song.
Trivia
Both "Run To You" and fellow The Bodyguard soundtrack song "I Have Nothing" were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. They would both lose, however, to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin.
