About
An East Germany native named Alex lives along with this sickly mother during a time of stress and turmoil back in the 1990's. Following the eventful arrest of Alex as well as the untimely heart attack of his mother, just a few months later they are both released back into their old East Germany neighborhood however it no longer looks the way it used to.
Trivia
Before casting Daniel Brühl for the role of Alex, film director Wolfgang Becker wanted actor Florian Lukas to play the role, however Lukas was eventually given the role of Denis during this film.
