He began his youth soccer career as a youth with Raja Casablanca. He later moved to Varese's youth academy at age 15.

He spent the 2017-2018 year on loan from Newcastle United to Benevento. He made his debut for Morocco's senior international team in 2014.

While born in Casablanca, Morocco, he moved with his family to Italy in 2003.
