Before Fame
She grew up drawing and crafting. She completed a Certificate of Art & Design at Box Hill TAFE. She then earned a Bachelor of Design at Swinburne University and began a freelance illustration and design career in 1994. Her first illustration credit was on the book Santa's Aussie Holiday in 2007. Her big break was publishing her illustrated book Mr. Huff in 2015.

Her book Mr. Huff was a CBCA Early Childhood Winner in 2016. She was chosen as the 2025 Premiers' Reading Challenge featured illustrator in Victoria. She has been known to create felt creatures and miniature props for a tiny house in her front garden. Her book Florette was picked as a Best Illustrated Book by the New York Times and New York Public Library in 2017.
