Ausar Thompson

About

Forward who bypassed his senior year of high school to join Atlanta's Overtime Elite (OTE) league in 2021. He played for Team OTE in 2021-22 and for the City Reapers in 2022-23. After two years in the OTE, he declared for the NBA. He was selected fifth overall in the 2023 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons.

Before Fame

At age seven, he began playing basketball. He played basketball for Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was rated a five-star recruit by ESPN and won a state title. 

Trivia

He was named the OTE Most Valuable Player in 2023 and he won two straight OTE championships, earning OTE Finals MVP honors on both occasions. His ausarthompson Instagram account has earned over 320,000 followers.

His parents are Maya Wilson and Troy Thompson. His older brother is Troy Jr. His identical twin is Amen Thompson.
