Before fame
He made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu during the 2013-14 season and became known for being a technically strong middle-order batter. His big break came in 2017 when he scored his first first-class double century making 200 runs for India Red in the Duleep Trophy. He joined Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2022 and made his IPL debut that year.
Trivia
He was named captain of Tamil Nadu for the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season. He and his twin brother Baba Aparajith once shared a 207-run partnership and became the first set of twins to score hundreds in the same game for the same team in Indian domestic cricket.
Family life
His twin brother Baba Aparajith is also a professional cricketer, and they were born 12 minutes apart. He married Preneetha B Indrajith in January 2026.
