British-Indian author whose debut novel, (Un)arranged Marriage, made a huge splash in 2001, winning a slew of awards including the Angus Book Award and the Stockport Schools Book Award. He has since published other acclaimed books like The Crew and become a regular speaker at schools across the country.
He grew up a huge fan of the soccer club Liverpool F.C. and was inspired to write after reading The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole by Sue Townsend.
He was nominated for the prestigious Carnegie Medal for outstanding children's writing for his 2014 children's book Web of Darkness.
He is the first member of his family to graduate from college.
He and The Edge author Alab Gibbons are both winners of the Angus Book Award.
