Alpine ski racer and Olympian known for winning Olympic gold in the women's downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, for winning two gold medals at the 2025 Alpine World Championships, and for competing for the U.S. Ski Team / Team USA in downhill, super-G, and team combined events.

Before fame

She began skiing at a young age and gravitated toward speed skiing early in her development. She trained through competitive youth programs before joining Rowmark Ski Academy. She made her FIS Alpine Ski World Cup debut in December 2015 when she was 19 years old. She returned to top competition after serving a 14-month competition ban related to missed anti-doping whereabouts tests between 2023 and 2024. She won gold in women's downhill at the 2025 Alpine World Championships. She won a second gold medal in team combined at the 2025 World Championships skiing the downhill leg of the event. She completed a major comeback by winning Olympic downhill gold in 2026.

Trivia

She became only the second American woman to win Olympic downhill gold after her win in 2026 with the first being Lindsey Vonn in 2010.  She won her Olympic gold in 2026 on a dramatic day that included a high-profile crash by teammate Lindsey Vonn. She is part of the LGBTQ community. She appeared on the podcast What's the Point With Mikaela Shiffrin in 2025.

Family life

Her full name is Breanna Noble Johnson. She was born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming. In 2023, she began dating Connor Watkins. They were engaged at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
