Known as Bret "The Hitman" Hart, he was a five-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion and two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion over the course of his 20-plus year career.
He would work for his father, Stu, a wrestling promoter, by handing out fliers at wrestling shows.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006, but was legendarily double-crossed on his final match in the WWF before moving to WCW. He held Vince McMahon responsible.
He was raised alongside seven brothers, including fellow wrestler Owen Hart, and four sisters. He was married to Julie Smadu from 1982 to 2002. They had four children together, Jade, Dallas, Alexandra, and Blade. He was then married to Cinzia Rota from 2004 to 2007. He married his third wife, Stephanie Washington, in 2010.
He defeated Diamond Dallas Page to win a WWE United States Championship in 1998.
