Professional football player known for playing as a safety for the Dallas Cowboys after being selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, along with previously playing college football for Alabama and Ohio State where he helped the Buckeyes win the 2024 national championship. Before fame

He attended Mill Creek High School where he became a standout football player and led the school to its first football state championship. He began his college football career at Alabama in 2023 before transferring to Ohio State in January 2024. He joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2026 after being selected with the No. 11 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Trivia

He was named the 2022 MaxPreps National Football Player of the Year and the 2022-23 Gatorade Georgia Football Player of the Year. He earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors at Alabama in 2023. He won the 2025 Jim Thorpe Award which honors the top defensive back in college football.

Family life

His father Gary Downs played college football at NC State and played in the NFL. His older brother Josh Downs is also a professional football player and has played wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts.
