Before Fame
She started her career as a pageant contestant, gaining attention after winning the Miss Chatellerault pageant in 1952. She then went on to win the Miss Universe pageant in 1953. She then started her acting career the following year making her big screen debut as Christiane in the film So This Is Paris.
