Known for his roles as Neil Barash, Joel Goodman, and Dr. John Morgan on the respective television series Flying Blind, Blue Skies, and Love Boat: The Next Wave, Parker is also notable for his appearances in the films Friday the 13th: A New Beginning and Biloxi Blues.

After graduating from New York City's High School of Performing Arts, he performed with the Ensemble Studio Theatre and became a member of the famed Actors Studio.
