Volleyball coach who began his multi-decade stint as the head coach at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1975. Under his leadership, the team has won national titles in 1979, 1982, 1983 and 1987.

He was a two-time All-American volleyball player at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

In September 2013, he became the winningest coach in the history of Division I Women's Volleyball with 1,107 wins.

Family Life

His son, Kawika, played volleyball at Stanford University and was named the AVCA Player of the Year for 2010.
