Trumpeter and composer known for his work in the jazz and hard bop musical genres. He released four acclaimed albums on the Blue Note record label: Blues in Trinity in 1958, Star Bright in 1959, and Comin' On! and Soundin' Off in 1960.
He attended the Alpha Boys School in his native Jamaica and began playing trumpet when he was fourteen years old.
He composed music for the 1958 crime film Nowhere to Go.
He was the son of a Jamaican pianist. After leaving Jamaica, Reece lived in London, Paris, and New York.
He performed with legendary jazz saxophonist Dexter Gordon.
